We went for Sunday lunch and had the 3 courses. Excellent meal, the roast was superb, beautiful meat, plenty of different vegetables (the cauliflower cheese was delicious) extra gravy supplied without having to ask for it. The desserts were super as well. The staff were very courteous and helpful.
Unable to report on food . Tried to book online for Sunday lunch , form for hotel appeared , then lunch enquiry booking form asked for payment in advance which was refused . Rang to book on previous day at 11.00 am but person who answered phone tried to put me through to someone to take booking but no reply ! Took my phone number and said someone would ring back by 3.pm , no call back so I booked elsewhere . Do these people really want to do business ?
It was my birthday and we booked a roast Sunday dinner from6.30pm. The food and service were exemplary and I was dismayed to hear negative comments from the diners next to us, which were both unfounded and unfair. I am a vegetarian since 1987 and the nut roast offered was without doubt the best I have ever tasted. Everything about this meal was superb and my compliments go to both the chef and the excellent waiting staff. Cannot wait to come again.
What an absolutely fabulous Sunday roast. We all had something different, one had beef, one had chicken, one had pork and one had a nut roast. I had the beef, it was beautifully tender and plenty of it. The others said the same about theirs. I must mention the incredibly light, fluffy and crisp on the outside yorkshire puddings The staff were attentive, very polite and nothing was too much trouble, everything was with a lovely smile. The puddings were also fabulous especially the rhubarb and apple crumble (how could the chef make that crumble taste so good), and the ice cream and chocolate in a Yorkshire pudding was outstanding, loved it.
