Surf and Turf is now Island Grill Cafe, and if you are on the island of Vanua Levu, this is a must stop for a quality meal with the freshest ingredients. If you have any allergy concerns, this may be the only spot on many of the Fiji islands that understand and will cater to your needs. I had a difficult time locating restaurants that understood I had a gluten allergy (not a preference) and the manager immediately suggested meals that were safe for me to consume and even made me particular meals I wanted to eat without wheat. I have had three meals there already, and will return time and time again. Do not miss your opportunity to eat here if you are in Savusavu.
Little spot just past the market . It is clean, friendly, and the chicken stir-fry was great. My husband had the spicy prawn soup and khanpung prawn with rice. He got it as spicy as he could and absolutely loved it. We had two locally grown fruit smoothies with our meal and two iced mochas to go. We will be back!
Ate here for lunch AND dinner. Recently under new ownership thus menu is being revised. Owners/staff very welcoming and accommodating when our large group arrived without a booking for lunch. They were happy to accommodate changes to menu items - eg changing/adding items to sandwiches, and they made me an affogato (espresso shot over a scoop of their home-made coconut icecream). Food was delicious- toasted sandwiches were spot on at lunch time. Meals at dinner were delicious and substantial (I had a vegetarian wrap which was Indian-inspired with a delicious crispy wrap). The coffee is especially good- smooth espresso with a rich crema.
I had 2 dinners at the Captain’s Table restaurant - the more formal sister to the listed Captain’s Cafe, with a shared kitchen. The lunch and dinner menu was sufficiently varied and reasonably priced, perhaps a bit expensive for the area. Everyone seemed very pleased with their food - a total of about 12 different dishes between our 2 meals. The ambience was very nice, with a great water view. The service was reasonably prompt and staff were skilled and friendly.
Had an amazing stay at Daku Resort. I felt welcome and everything was made easy for me as soon as I arrived. The location was beautiful and not too far a walk from town. Beautiful walks around the hotel and lots of activities available.The rooms are great value, large and comfortable.Thanks for an amazing stay!
Breakfast lunch and dinner were probably the highlight of my trip! Every meal we ate at the various spots were so good!
The staff were friendly, we placed our order and the food came out within minutes of placing it. Food tasted amazing and for its price as well, we couldn’t believe it. If I were here longer I’d definitely return.
Delicious Fijian Indian food cooked by two ladies, felt like home cooked food. Especially the warm and soft rotis with chicken curry
Very tasty dinner! Owners went the extra mile. Made reservations for 5pm not knowing that was also closing time. Welcomed us to stay ! Curry lamb - roti - rice - avocado salad. Food and conversation after hours was muchly appropriate. Vinaka From Vancouver Canada
Best coffee on the island!Mel is a fantastic host and always happy to share stories about her culture and what to do around town.The place is warm and welcoming, perfect to drop your luggage and catch your breath for a while.They also serve pizza and food, my favorite is the beef burger! The affogato (ice cream in espresso coffee) makes for a lovely dessert. But if you want something a little stronger, the espresso martini is excellent.Come by, you won't regret it!
I really enjoyed my visit to this beautiful café. Their coffee and iced mocha were excellent, as were their banana bread and cassava cake. The people were very friendly, the view was fantastic, and the bathrooms were clean.
Doesn't look much from the outside but the food was excellent, very quick and unbelievably cheap. We will definitely go back. 
This is more of a restaurant than a coffee shop—and the food is truly exceptional. Well worth coming here for a meal—you won’t regret it.
