Stopped today for a coffee and a snack on my way home. Regular coffee and sausage roll to takeaway $19. Sausage roll was microwaved and so hot it nearly burnt me through the bag. Inside very crusty outside, almost inedible. Filling when it was cool enough to eat was tasty enough. I have stopped many many times over the years at both the nursery and the cafe but I have to say today was a disappointment. The nursery doesn't have that same colourful, cared for look about it anymore either. Really sad because I have purchased lots from Blueskin over the years, both food and plants. I loved coming here to wander around and then have something to eat, but on my last 2 visits I have left disappointed and wasn't even tempted to but any plants.
There is a long wait to order. Only one staff member was taking orders the day we went and then the wait for the food was about 30-45 mins. I was with a group of four and we had only ordered cabinet food and a hot drink. The food was okay but nothing to write home about. The wait staff gave a mocha to one of our party as a hot chocolate, and then 10 mins later a second hot chocolate arrived at which time the staff said the first ‘hot chocolate’ was in fact a mocha and gave the mocha to my sister who had ordered it. Obviously it was cold by now and she requested it be changed for a hot one since it wasn’t her fault the wait staff gave her coffee to someone else and called it a hot chocolate. She was told she could have a hot one but it would be put at the bottom of the list for a 30 minute wait unless she was willing to pay for second one. What a disgrace. Fellow diners at a table nearby told us their coffees were all cold from the get go! Would’nt go back. (Actually I said that the last time I went there for lunch but thought things might have improved since it was a year out two back.)
Excellent coffee, cabinet food offering limited but tasty. Cafe staff lack personality or welcoming attitude. Very pleasant dining surrounded by plants. Extensive selection of plants, seemed very expensive. One very helpful nursery staff member. Too many signs
Ordered a black tea, no milk or sugar and ordered 2 cheese rolls. Absolutely shocking, both as flat as a pancake, cheese was hard to find and had to use a knife and fork to cut them. I should have thrown them back. NEVER AGAIN WILL I EVER BE SUCKED IN LIKE THIS AGAIN.
