We went for the dinner food and wine pairing, and it was amazing! I’m not sure if the food or the wine was better, but they were both thoughtful, interesting, flavorful, and complex. It was interesting to learn about the different wines of the winery and the unique wine conditions on Santorini.
I didn’t go inside the church, but it is set in a small, tiled square overlooking the sea. The whole thing is stunning.
I visited in the morning when it wasn’t too busy. During sunset, Oia can get busy to the point where it becomes overwhelming.
This was the first stop on our island circumnavigation.

Wow, the view here is incredible. We put a love lock on the railings here to mark my husband’s 40th birthday.
We went earlier in the day, it wasn’t too busy but I’m sure this will be variable depending on time of day and point in season.
I have to admit the sunset was absolutely stunning. Was it the best sunset I've ever seen in my life? No - I think that accolade would probably go to ones I experienced in Colombia, but to be fair this comes pretty close, and I think what makes it extra special are the breath-taking views across the caldera, and of course the pretty whitewashed buildings on the slopes of Oia. The negatives, of course, are the crowds. We went in May, which I gather is quiet compared to July and August, and it was still pretty crowded, so I dread to think what the crowds would be like at the height of summer. We'd been advised that the view was best from the castle ruins, but already an hour before sunset there was no space at the castle, so we settled for a space by a low wall near some extractor fans from a restaurant, the smell of which made the rest of my family feel a bit nauseous but it didn't bother me too much. You do end up occasionally having your view spoiled by other people waving their phone screens around (and I'm sure I was guilty of that too!) Also, it's a touristy area, and the shops and restaurants reflect that in their prices. I'm really glad I did it - it is a magnificent view - but I'm not sure if I'd bother again. There are lovely views of the sunset from many areas on the west side of the island, not just Oia.
The owner was the nicest man we met, and put no pressure on us to buy anything. We bought a necklace and then went back for a ring, which he gave us a discount on. The experience was one of the highlights of the trip.
These are the famous blue domes you see all over instagram. The are on a busy street (the only street, more like an alleyway) and you need to elbow you way in and wait your turn for the perfect shot. It can be a little overwhelming! Definitely need to make certain you do this or what was the point in visitng Oia. Practice patience and you will get that perfect shot. Found the locals to be rude.

A nice little museum and a really informative look at the history of Santorini. The museum staff are very nice and helpful as well. Don’t miss the periscope, it’s a fun and unique way to see Oia!
it is a quiet location in Oia, you have shops and cafes next door, fabulous views from here I recommend coming here nice place
Very good swimming spot off of Armeni bay.
There were many other people when we went, meaning we just swam straight away rather than sunbathing (there’s limited places to sit).
The water was clear and fresh, plus there’s a spot to jump off of the cliff if you’re feeling brave.
If you’re not steady on your feet or if you’ve got small children, the walk down from the main streets of Oía might not be suitable, and the walk from the bay to the swimming point even more so.
We accidentally came upon this beach as we were walking in the the Amoudi Bay neighboring area. It’s a 15-20 minute walk from Amoudi Bay. It’s a nice, quiet, and secluded beach to relax at. Definitely keep your footwear on when you’re not in the water, as it’s a pebble beach and can be quite rough in the feet.
Plaża Baxedes zwana również Paradisos leży na północnym wybrzeżu Santorini, na wschód od Przylądka Mavroperta. Jest długa na ok. 1 km a szeroka na ok. 20 m i pokryta czarnym wulkanicznym piaskiem i drobnymi kamykami. Od lądu osłania ją skalna skarpa dająca po południu cień i schronienie przed upałem. W niektórych miejscach plaży można wypożyczyć parasole i leżaki. Przy plaży znajdują się dwa niewielkie parkingi po wschodniej i zachodniej stronie oraz kilka barów. Na plaży nie ma tłumów ale jest ona polecana rodzinom z dziećmi ponieważ woda jest tu dość płytka a dno jest piaszczyste. Na plaży może być wietrznie zwłaszcza gdy latem z północy wieje łagodny suchy wiatr.
A lovely hidden art boutique right on the cliffs of Oia. The artists style is impeccable and the quality of the prints are remarkable. The prices are reasonable and the gallery owners were knowledgeable and kind.
Of course it’s a typical church structure but it’s beautiful nonetheless.
Definitely worth a stop even if only for a quick photograph.
