The main boulevard of Algiers oozes its French colonial past. Without a doubt the busiest street of the city, it's worth walking and spend an hour. Like most places in Algeria, it could do with some renovations and clean-up.
This Boulevard is quite long with nice colonial style buildings both side and also other style. it has enough things to offer you when you are walking a long. i think better to walk there after visiting Bardo Museum.
Our hotel (ABC hotel) was close to this. It is full of stores and restaurants, very lively and worth seeing. It is somewhat dirty, though, like most of Algeria, with many broken sidewalks.
This is probably the busiest street in the whole of Algiers - an endless number of shops and cafes. You’ll probably end up there because it’s so close to many of the city’s major tourist attractions. However, I’m wouldn’t describe it as a place of beauty!
