We had the best service and food for Sunday lunch to celebrate what would have been my late mum’s 80th birthday. The food was hot, plentiful and tasty, the service was quick and professional. Thank you.
I have been to this restaurant on several occasions. Last week, we came for the set menu £70 for 2 - 3 course meals. My partner had garlic mushrooms to start and chicken skewers for main, which there were loads of, and a creme brulee, I had soup, rump steak, and chocolate fudge cake. The meal was very nice with good young servers, my one complaint was the veg, it never changes, peas and carrots. Stem broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, creamed spinach are just a few they could have to improve the menu. With better veg, it would have excellent. I also like that they don't have a service charge, so you leave what you want.
A belated review. Me and my partner have been regular diners at The Venus for over 30 years. I have not wrote a review before now because the restaurant is always excellent, lunchtime, evenings or private functions. The food, setting, staff is first class. We have been today (12 December) for a Xmas lunch, 3 beautiful courses, wonderful service and incredible value.
Lovely restaurant and staff, great quality fresh food and very generous portions. The scampi and roast lamb are just fantastic. Highly recommend.
